This Privacy Policy describes how WordWards ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide

  • ▸Display name (optional): if you choose to set a username within the app
  • ▸Sign-in credentials: if you choose to link your Google or Apple account for cross-device sync

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Account & Authentication (Firebase Auth)

  • ·Anonymous user ID (auto-generated on first launch, even without sign-in)
  • ·If you link a Google or Apple account: your email address and provider-assigned user ID

Game Data (Firebase Firestore)

  • ·Game scores, match history, level progress, coin balances, earned cosmetics
  • ·PvP match state and results
  • ·Daily board participation and leaderboard rankings

Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

  • ·App launch events and screen views
  • ·Feature usage (game modes played, powerups used, etc.)
  • ·Device type, OS version, app version, language/region
  • ·Session duration and engagement metrics
  • ·This data is aggregated and pseudonymous; it is not linked to your real identity

Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)

  • ·Crash logs and error stack traces
  • ·Device model, OS version, app version at time of crash
  • ·This data is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs

Push Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging / FCM)

  • ·FCM device token (used to deliver push notifications for PvP turn reminders)
  • ·We do not use push notifications for marketing without your explicit consent

In-App Purchases

  • ·Purchase receipts are validated server-side via the App Store / Google Play billing APIs
  • ·We do not store full payment card details; billing is handled entirely by Apple or Google
  • ·Purchase history (product IDs and timestamps) is stored to credit your account

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. DATA SHARING

We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • ▸ Google / Firebase: The App is built on Google Firebase services (Auth, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, FCM). Data processed by these services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • ▸ Apple: If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes your Apple ID credentials under Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • ▸ App Store / Play Store billing: Purchase transactions are processed by Apple or Google. We receive only purchase confirmation data.
  • ▸ Legal obligations: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. DATA RETENTION

  • ▸ Active accounts: Game data is retained while your account exists.
  • ▸ Anonymous accounts: If you never link a Google or Apple account, your data is tied to your device. Uninstalling the app will result in data loss.
  • ▸ Account deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the support email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA)

WordWards is rated Everyone / 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

GDPR (EU/EEA/UK Users)

  • ✓Delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • ✓Restrict or object to certain processing
  • ✓Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
  • ✓Withdraw consent at any time

  • ✓Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • ✓Request deletion of personal information
  • ✓Opt out of the "sale" of personal information
  • ✓Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

7. DATA SECURITY

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Firebase services are secured by Google's infrastructure, including encryption at rest and in transit. We implement access controls to limit who can access game data on the backend.

No system is perfectly secure. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
