HOW TO PLAY.
Connect letters, build words, climb the leaderboard. Everything you need to know.
The Basics
Read the board
A 5×5 grid of letters, each with a base point value. Higher-value letters score more. Spot rare letters (Q, X, Z, J) before you start tracing.
Trace a word
Drag from the first letter through adjacent tiles in any direction — up, down, side, diagonal. Release to arm Submit, then tap to lock in. Or tap one tile at a time.
Adjacency rule: only tiles directly touching the previous one. No jumping.
Score points
Each word's base score uses its letters and length. Length bonuses, rare-letter bonuses, and streak multipliers stack on top. Long words can score 5–6× a short word with the same letters.
An 8-letter word earns a flat +5 on top of everything else.
Build streaks
Two consecutive valid words = ×1.05. Three = ×1.10. Four or more = ×1.15. A single invalid word breaks the streak — Streak Saver protects you for one.

Every letter has a base point value. Higher-value letters appear less often but can turn an average word into a winning play.

Pro tips
Scan for rare letters first
Before tracing, locate Q, X, Z and J. Plan paths that use them — they're where the biggest points hide.
Work from the edges in
Corner and edge tiles have fewer neighbours. Include them early or they get stranded.
Suffixes unlock big words
Common endings like -ING, -ED, -TION, -LY turn a 4-letter path into a 7-letter score.
Diagonals are your friend
Diagonals give you 8 neighbours per tile, not 4. Many long words are only possible via diagonal moves.
Save powerups for crunch
The last 60 seconds of a Focus round are worth 2× more powerup value than the opening.
Warm up before Daily Board
Play one Zen round first to wake the eye. Then nail the daily on your first try.
